Kirkland Golf Balls Review Guide

Here you will find a (nearly) complete list of reviews of Kirkland Golf Balls. Why?

Golf enthusiasts are always on the lookout for quality equipment that doesn’t break the bank, including golf balls. I don’t think any ball has inspired as much curiosity in this regard as the Kirkland Signature golf ball.

History of the Kirkland Golf Balls

Costco had a surprising entry into the competitive golf market, as it was better known for wholesale bulk goods than sporting equipment. Launched under the warehouse club’s private label brand, Kirkland Signature, these golf balls quickly became a topic of conversation among golfers and industry insiders alike.

Kirkland Signature golf balls made their debut in 2016 and immediately caused a stir due to their unexpectedly high performance coupled with their low price point. Priced significantly lower than comparable premium balls, they offered golfers an affordable alternative to the typical expensive premium balls.

Following their launch, Kirkland Signature golf balls quickly sold out, leading to a scarcity that only fueled their popularity. Their performance, comparable to much more expensive balls, along with stories of their limited availability, created a huge following with golf consumers. Then they got sued for patent infringement and the original balls never came back.

Since then, Kirkland has come out with a few different versions of an in-house Kirkland golf ball. None have shook the world like the original.

Detractors say the subsequent versions of the ball are low quality, damage too easily, and spin too much. Defenders say the ball is fantastic and the best buy in golf. Who is correct?

A ton of people want to know if the Kirkland Golf Balls are any good. Personally, I think they are a good option for a lot of people. However, this is far from a unanimous position.

Overall, I would say that these are perfect for cost-conscious golfers who want to play a urethane ball. They are also perfect for people who play golf for fun and don’t need the best-in-class Titleist Pro V1.

Kirkland Golf Ball Performance

Who should shy away from these?  People who are looking to maximize performance at all costs. I wouldn’t recommend them if you have major golf goals. This includes tournament play, college scholarships, or professional golf.

I suspect that competitive players aren’t that interested in the Kirkland ball; why take chances? In fact, most of the complaints that these reviewers find about the ball are only relevant to people who don’t care about the Kirkland ball. High spin on the driver is a common complaint that would apply here.

I’ve created a reference guide to provide a review archive of all current model Kirkland golf balls. I don’t have a bias here, but most of these reviews paint the current generation of balls in a pretty positive light. I am not posting reviews of the previous model unless they compare to the V3 ball.

Let me know if you find any reviews that I’ve missed!
